Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is an important part of your recovery. It is also a conservative approach to help you strengthen and regain control of your pelvic floor muscles. As part of your consultation you will gain a better understanding of how your pelvic floor muscles affect your ability to control bowel and urine functions. You will learn how to correctly do pelvic floor exercises with the use of technology, how to evacuate your bowel correctly and the use of biofeedback.

You should find a physiotherapist that specialises in continence physiotherapy. Discuss with your doctor when the best time to start your physiotherapy would be.

Your doctor may be able to recommend a specialist physiotherapist in your area.
